Smoke used these skates while he was the Captain of the Canadian Olympic hockey team from 1972-1976.  He was also featured on the team’s 1974 hockey card; but it was a non Olympic year so it suffered low circulation.  Canada boycotted the Olympics in ’72 & ’76, in protest of strict amateur eligibility requirements.  Unfortunately even though Smoke was one of Canada’s greatest hockey captains, due to this comedy of errors, not many people realize that Smoke is indeed a Canadian Hockey Legend!
